Featured for the second year running as one of the world’s most promising Cleantech companies, Kebony ASA will be showcasing additions to its award winning sustainable wood materials at this year’s Ecobuild, stand S1150.
Kebony ASA, the Norwegian company behind this innovative wood material, has seen growing international demand for its sustainable wood product as upcoming EU legislation requires the building industry to seek alternatives to illegal timber sources, those that are often unsustainable and environmentally damaging. Kebony is a true alternative to tropical hardwood and toxic-treated wood. Kebony is a non-toxic, easily maintained, beautiful, environmentally-friendly wood that is resistant to decay and cost effective due to its durability and long lifespan in harsh climates. The pioneering Kebonization* process transforms sustainable wood species into those with comparable, and often superior, attributes to tropical hardwood, making it applicable to a range of uses including: decking, flooring, cladding, roofing, windows and indoor and outdoor furniture.
The new Kebony Radiata will be showcased for the first time as an addition to the range – existing species permanently strengthened by Kebonization include maple, pine and beech. Radiata, native to New Zealand and Chile, offers a smooth, evenly-patterned pine indistinguishable from tropical wood with all the associated hardwearing qualities inherited through the Kebonization process.
